Vital Time Care Response

Our commitment to your continued service delivery – service as usual and when you need us

Vital Time Care are committed to providing all our clients with quality support services without disruptions in the coming months and beyond. In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, the safety and wellbeing of our clients, staff and their families is our priority. With regular contact with government officials, we are responding proactively and have established precautionary measures to manage its spread in accordance with recommendations from Australian Governments and health agencies. We have also rolled out an active response plan to ensure continuity of services are delivered with a focus on practices that protect you, your family and our staff. All of our support staff have been directed to complete a Novel Coronavirus Infection and Control training program, so they are prepared and informed prior to supporting you.
To-date, Vital Time Care has not received notification of any confirmed cases of coronavirus amongst our staff or clients.

The key measures we have taken include:

  • Minimising person-to-person contact
  • In providing support to customers, there is often a need for support which involves person-to-person contact, for example; support with meals and drinks or getting dressed. To help keep customers safe our staff have been trained to:
  • Wash their hands / use hand sanitiser before supporting customers.
  • Guide and encourage customers as much as possible to minimise touching other people during this period.
  • A safety questionnaire is completed prior to all direct support work to ascertain risk, before we “in reach” into a person’s home.
  • In order to ensure our staff and the people we support are safe, the Vital Time Care team are all using PPE.
  • As well as good hand hygiene and infection control Training our staff are also wearing single use, surgical face masks.
  • We can also provide masks to our clients for all of our home based visits

Hygiene practices and supplies

We are working closely with our staff to ensure they respond appropriately to any signs of the virus in clients or themselves. We encourage our clients to be mindful of hygiene practices as it has been documented that the virus is spread by coughing and sneezing. Please ensure that you obtain suitable stock (food, cleaning products) and medication to support you during this time. As an extra precaution, we recommend the installation of hand sanitiser stations at your front door or entrance for everyone (guests or family members) entering your home residence.

Reporting concerns

Through close communication, we will ensure that any staff who show signs of illness or have travelled overseas are staying home. If staff notice that you are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, then we will encourage you to undertake a medical examination. This will ensure we act preventatively to avoid any potential spread of the virus as well a providing you with the best support at this time.

Vital Time Care will remain available to support you. This is particularly important should you need urgent services or contingency support at this time.
